Rouzi Maimaiti ( Chinese  肉孜 买买提 , Pinyin Ròuzī Mǎimǎití ; * July 4, 1983 ) is a Chinese snooker player .

Career

Rouzi Maimaiti had his first contact with professional snooker in the 2010/11 season when he received wild cards at the Shanghai Masters and the China Open . The following year he was even selected three times, but all five wildcard matches were lost. It wasn't until the Wuxi Classic 2012 that he managed to win against a professional player for the first time and with a 5-1 win over Dave Harold he made it into the round of 32.

In the same year, the Players Tour Championship , which is open to amateurs, came to Asia and he took part in all three Chinese tournaments, but always failed early on against professional players . In the 2013/14 season he was all the more successful. At the Zhangjiagang Open 2013 he reached the quarterfinals after beating Paul Davison and Liu Chuang , among others . At the Zhengzhou Open , he reached the round of 16 after defeating Ben Woollaston . Overall, he secured 17th place in the Asian Tour Order of Merit and was fourth-best amateur in this ranking of the Asian tournaments. As a result, he was granted the right to start the Snooker Main Tour for the following two seasons .

In the 2014/15 season he registered for the Ruhr Open and the UK Championship , but was unable to travel due to problems with his visa . During the entire season he only took part in the Asian Tour and reached the quarter-finals as the best result of the season at the Xuzhou Open 2015 . The following year he only appeared at the Haining Open , where he won one match. With that he dropped out of the professional tour again.

Nevertheless, in 2016 he got a wildcard from the Chinese Association for two more professional years. In the 2016/17 season , however, he did not take part in a single tournament, also because the Players Tour Championship had been abolished and he would have had to travel to England to qualify for the Chinese tournaments. At the end of the season, he prematurely returned his tour card.
