RuPaul's Drag Race UK is the British offshoot of the US reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race by and with RuPaul , in which British drag queens compete for victory since 2019 . In addition to RuPaul and Michelle Visage from the American original, Alan Carr and Graham Norton sit on the jury in the British version .

The first season of the show was from 3 October to 21 November 2019 the UK online on BBC Three on the BBC iPlayer and internationally on the WOW presents Plus - streaming service the production company World of Wonder broadcast. The Vivienne is the first winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK .

On November 7th, the show was renewed for a second season.

format

Jury and guests

As in the original, RuPaul also takes on the role of moderator and chairman of the jury in the British version and is supplemented by Michelle Visage on the jury . In addition, Alan Carr and Graham Norton are alternating chief judges , who will take on the role of Ross Matthews and Carson Kressley in the American show. Guest jurors were Andrew Garfield , Maisie Williams , Twiggy , Geri Horner , Jade Thirlwall , Cheryl and Michaela Coel in each episode . Prices

Unlike in the American original, there are no cash prizes or material prizes from commercial partners for successful participants. The season winner will appear in Hollywood on her own web series produced by World of Wonder. At the end of an episode, winners of challenges receive a "Ru Peter Badge", a pin with the Union Jack as a motif, which is named after the "Blue Peter Badge". That no cash prizes will be paid out, is that the transmitter BBC on sponsor funding and support for companies waived.

In the fifth episode of the season on October 31, 2019, the remaining candidates should perform the song Break Up (Bye Bye) as girl groups supplemented with their own verses.
