Ruben Christopher Carter (born December 1, 1992 in Miami , Florida ) is an American American and Canadian football player. He plays the offensive lineman position , currently for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Career

Carter attended Florida State University from 2011 to 2014 . In his first year he put in a red shirt year. He played five games in 2012, 11 games in 2013 and one game in 2014. For the 2015 season, Carter moved to the University of Toledo . There he started all 12 games as a center. He was part of an offensive line that allowed only five sacks for the entire season and an offense that scored 35 points and 460 yards per game. In April 2016 he signed the Miami Dolphins ( National Football League (NFL)). He was released on August 30, 2016. On October 7, 2016, the Calgary Stampeders ( Canadian Football League (CFL)) signed him for their practice roster . He was released on May 19, 2017. On May 24, 2017, the Dallas Cowboys signed Carter. He was released on August 16, 2017. The Pittsburgh Steelers then signed him on August 25, 2017. On September 2, 2017, Carter was fired as part of the squad downsizing to 53 players.

In March 2018, the Baltimore Brigade from the Arena Football League signed Carter.

On May 21, 2018, the Montreal Alouettes signed him from the CFL. He was released in August 2018.

In September 2018, the Orlando Apollos announced that they had signed Carter for 2019 from the newly formed Alliance of American Football . In October 2018, the Massachusetts Pirates of the National Arena League announced they had signed Carter for the 2019 season.
