Rubus coreanus ( English bokbunja, Korean blackberry, or Korean bramble ) is a species of the rose family. The raspberry is native to Korea , Japan and China . It produces edible fruits (whicharenot berries in the botanical sense) that are fermented to bokbunja ju ( Korean 복분자주 ), a Korean alcoholic drink (although the majority of the fruits commercially produced for the drink today are from the North American species Rubus occidentalis belong).
