Rudolf "Rudi" Bohn (* the thirtieth August 1919 in Berlin ; † 9. March 1979 in Hamburg ) was a German musician ( piano , trumpet , accordion ), arranger and bandleader of jazz - and popular music .
Live and act
Bohn studied piano and trombone in his native town. He initially worked as a trombonist with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. From 1947 to 1952 he was the pianist in the quintet of Helmut Zacharias , with whom there were also recordings; from 1952 he played with Viktor Reschke in Hamburg. From 1956 he worked as an arranger and band leader for Teldec , Polydor and other record companies and recorded music from various genres up to easy listening and popular music , sometimes under a pseudonym (e.g. as Rubino & His Continentals ). With his big band he also appeared in television programs, for example with Peter Frankenfeld . With his orchestra or choir he accompanied Hans Albers , Evelyn Künneke and Karel Gott , for whom he also arranged. He can also be heard on records by the Old Merry Tale Jazz Band .
