Rudi Vata (born February 13, 1970 in Shkodra ) is a former Albanian football player .

Vata became known in Germany when he was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with Energie Cottbus in 2000. Previously he was u. a. already working for Celtic Glasgow .

In the 2000/01 season he was a fixture in energy defense with 30 missions. After he was injured for almost the entire first half of the 2001/02 season , he moved to the 2nd division to LR Ahlen for the winter break .

In 2002 he moved from Ahlen back to his home country to SK Tirana , then he played in Tokyo in the 2nd Japanese league. The coach there was Pierre Littbarski . After a season in Japan, he let his career end.

For the Albanian national team , Vata played 59 international matches in which he scored five goals. At times he was Albanian national record player, now he is in this ranking behind Strakosha , Tare and Rraklli and together with Alban Bushi in 4th place.

At the end of his career, he acquired both a trainer and a consultant license. He currently works as a player advisor.
