Rudolf Hartmetz (born 1941 in Łódź ; died April 2007 in Rheinsberg ) was a German photographer .

Life

Born in 1941 in Lodz, grew up in Hartha / Saxony, apprenticeship as a photographer, military service, University of Graphic and Book Art Leipzig , diploma, member of the Association of Visual Artists . First freelance work as a documentarist when setting up the oil processing plant in Schwedt an der Oder , then photographer at the Bauakademie in Berlin , since 1971 freelance in Frankfurt (Oder) and from 1991 in Bautzen , 2006 relocation to Rheinsberg in Brandenburg . After a short, serious illness, Rudolf Hartmetz died in Rheinsberg in April 2007.

Services

Rudolf Hartmetz mainly took photos in the areas of landscape, cityscape and monument preservation. He published numerous illustrated books, calendars, postcard editions, an extensive portfolio and had exhibitions in Germany and Europe.

Hartmetz's photographs can be found in the Rudolf Hartmetz Archive in Rheinsberg, in the Museum Bautzen , in the Bautzen Archive Network , in the City Museum Schwedt / Oder, in the Documentation Center for Everyday Culture of the GDR in Eisenhüttenstadt, in the Monument Office of the City of Görlitz and in the Fürst-Pückler Museum Park and Branitz Castle.
