Rudolf Kaefer

Rudolf Kaefer , also: Käfer (born October 30, 1876 in Wiehe ; † November 11, 1923 in Braunschweig ) was a German theologian , educator and politician ( DVP ).

Life

After attending the Donndorf monastery school and graduating from the Pforta state school in 1896 , Kaefer studied theology at the University of Halle until 1899 . He then worked as a teacher at the pedagogy in Allstedt and as a private tutor in Sachsa . He passed the first theological exam in 1901, did military service in Magdeburg and was then employed as an assistant teacher and alumni inspector at the Rhotert Institute in Sachsa. In 1903 he passed the second theological exam in Magdeburg. After receiving his teaching qualification in Braunschweig in 1905, he completed the seminar year at the Wilhelm Gymnasium there and, from 1906 to 1907, the probationary year at the Rhotert Realschule in Blankenburg . In 1907 he passed the second teaching examinations for religion, Hebrew and German. From 1911 he worked as a senior teacher at the Martino-Katharineum Braunschweig , most recently as a teacher .

Kaefer joined the DVP during the Weimar Republic and was its first regional chairman in the Free State of Braunschweig . From 1920 until his death he was a member of the Braunschweig State Parliament . From May 23, 1922 until his resignation on July 13, 1922, he was Minister of State for Finance and Public Education in the government of the Free State of Braunschweig, which was headed by Heinrich Jasper .

From 1921 until his death, with interruptions due to his role as minister, Kaefer was a teacher at the Wilhelm Gymnasium in Braunschweig. In November 1923 he died of blood poisoning.
