Rudolf Meier (born June 6, 1926 in Baar ; † July 19, 1995 there , Catholic , entitled to live in Baar and Oberägeri ) was a Swiss politician (CVP) .

Rudolf Meier was born on July 6, 1926 in Baar as the son of the SBB official and Zug Cantonal Councilor Johannes Meier and Maria Anna, born Hotz. After graduating from the Einsiedeln Abbey School in 1948 , he enrolled in a degree in economics and economics in Freiburg , which he completed in 1952 with the academic degree of Dr. rer. pole. completed. As a result, he was employed as a community official in Baar since 1954. He then worked as a secretary from 1958, from 1972 as central administrator and from 1982 as a member of the central board of the Konkordia Lucerne health insurance company.

In addition, Meier represented at canton political level between 1963 and 1978 in the Cantonal Council of Zug, initially the Conservative-Christian Social People's Party , and from 1970 the CVP. He was then a member of the government council from 1978 to 1986 . Rudolf Meier lost his government office mainly because of conflicts within the canton police , which he headed as police director. Most recently, between 1987 and 1995, he held the position of Economics Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe for the expansion of public transport.

He was married to Germaine, the daughter of André Joseph Limon from Alsace . Rudolf Meier died on July 19, 1995 at the age of 69 in Baar.
