Rudolf Moser (politician)

Rudolf Moser (born February 6, 1931 in Pöttsching ; † November 6, 2017 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Moser was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1964 to 1987 .

Life

Moser was born as the son of the miner Julius Moser from Pöttsching and attended elementary school in Pöttsching and secondary school in Wiener Neustadt . Then he worked as a construction worker.

Career

Moser worked in 1949 and 1950 as an employee of the SPÖ in the Mattersburg district . In August 1950 he finally moved to the Burgenland ÖGB State Secretariat in Eisenstadt as an employee .

From 1961 Moser held the function of chairman and from 1975 that of director of the Burgenland regional health insurance fund. At the same time he became a board member of the Burgenland Chamber of Labor in 1975 .

Political commitment

He joined the Socialist Youth in 1945 and became a member of the construction and woodworkers' union in 1947 . In 1949 he also became a member of the SPÖ. In the Socialist Youth, Moser was regional chairman from 1951 to 1962, and from 1954 he was also a member of the regional party executive of the SPÖ Burgenland . He also worked between 1956 and 1975 as the head of the state secretariat of the ÖGB and from 1959 was a member of the Chamber of Labor.

Moser also became involved as a local councilor from 1967 and was Mayor of Pöttsching from 1972 to 1991. He was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from May 26, 1964 to October 30, 1987, and was appointed to the government council in 1990 .
