Rudolf Poensgen (born April 21, 1826 in Schleiden , † April 8, 1895 in Sanremo , buried Nordfriedhof Düsseldorf ) was a German industrialist and royal. Prussia. Commerce Council . Rudolf Poensgen was the son of the factory owner Reinhard Poensgen (1792–1848) and Katharina Henriette Axmacher (1796–1850). Rudolf Poensgen was married to Friederike Poensgen (1834–1909), daughter of the distant relative Carl Poensgen (1802–1848), a hut owner in Schleiden. Together they had seven children, including the future industrialist Carl Rudolf Poensgen .
