Rudolf Waldbott of Bassenheim

Johann Maria Rudolf Reichsgraf Waldbott von Bassenheim (born June 29, 1731 , † February 15, 1805 ) was a German ruling count and President of the Reich Chamber of Commerce.

He came from the family of Waldbott von Bassenheim and was the son of the Imperial Councilor and Kurmainzer inheritance of Rudolf Johann Reichsgraf Waldbott von Bassenheim (* 1686 - January 29, 1731) and his wife Maria Antonia Franziska nee von Ostein (1710–1778), daughter of the Kurmainzer Privy Councilor and Chief Bailiff to Amorbach , Johann Franz Sebastian Graf von Ostein (1652–1718).

His uncle, Elector Johann Friedrich Karl von Ostein from Mainz , had the Bassenheimer Hof built as a widow's residence for his sister, who was widowed at an early age and was Rudolf's mother .

Rudolf married Eleonore Walburgis Erneste Freiin von Hoheneck († April 25, 1760), a daughter of the Oberamtmann zu Miltenberg , Damian Anton Maria von Hoheneck, and his second marriage Isabella Felicitas Barbara Countess von Nesselrode - Ehreshoven (* around 1750; †) October 19, 1824), a daughter of Count Karl Franz von Nesselrode-Ehreshoven, Jülich-Berg chancellor and governor of the Duchy of Jülich-Berg , as well as the sister of General Karl Franz Alexander Johann Wilhelm von Nesselrode-Ehreshoven and Canon Johann Franz von Nesselrode -Ehreshoven .

Life

Waldbott von Bassenheim was lord of the imperial direct dominions Pyrmont , Olbrück , Königsfeld, Reifenberg , Dettenbach, Herresbach (since 1767) and Kransberg . In addition, he held a variety of offices. He was heir to the offices of Münster , Kobern and Alken in Kurtrier . Since October 6, 1764 he was the First Teutonic Order and since June 11, 1777 Burgrave of Friedberg . In 1788 he was accepted into the Westphalian Counts College because of Pyrmonts. He was a Grand Prior in the Order of St. Joseph and KK secret council and chamber.

1763–1777 he was one of the two presidents of the Reich Chamber of Commerce (President of the Catholic Confession).

In 1801 he lost Pyrmont and his share in Olbrück. In 1803, as part of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss , he received the Heggbach Abbey, which was elevated to a county .
