Rudolf von Schönau-Wehr

Rudolf Leopold Josef Anton Freiherr von Schönau-Wehr , partly also written to Rudolph (born March 1, 1809 in Wehr ; † March 13, 1880 in Karlsruhe ), was a forest clerk and chamberlain from the Grand Duke of Baden .

Life

Rudolf von Schönau-Wehr was the third and youngest son of Baron Joseph Anton Xaver von Schönau (1773-1839) and Josepha von Schönau, née Freiin von Gemmingen-Hagenschieß (1783-1840). After attending grammar school, he studied at the University of Freiburg i. Br. And at the University of Heidelberg until the state examination in 1830.

In 1934, Grand Duke Leopold assigned him the management of the Grand Ducal Court Forestry with the rank of hunting squire. In 1836 he was appointed court forest master. In 1839 he became chamberlain .

On June 13, 1846 he married Sophie Gulat von Wellenburg (1826-1896), a granddaughter of Daniel Gulat von Wellenburg, who was ennobled in 1800 and later president of the Badischer Frauenverein . The marriage resulted in three sons and two daughters.

In 1948 he was a sniper in the 5th Company III in the Karlsruhe vigilante group . Banner. He was appointed Oberhofforstmeister in 1855 and then Hofjägermeister in 1857. After the court forest office was abolished, on March 24, 1868, he was given the management of the grand ducal court domains. In this position he was appointed chief hunter in 1872 .

He died shortly after his 71st birthday after a long illness.
