Rudolph Springer

Rudolph Springer (born January 29, 1927 in Dresden ; † January 19, 1973 ) was a German trade unionist ( FDGB ) and politician ( SED ). He was chairman of the central board of the IG Post and Telecommunications and chairman of the FDGB district board in Dresden .

Life

Springer, the son of a lathe operator, learned the trade of telecommunications construction from 1941 to 1944. In 1944/45 he did military service in the Wehrmacht and in 1945/46 was a Soviet prisoner of war . From 1946 to 1948 he worked again as a telecommunications craftsman.

In 1945 Springer joined the SPD and the FDGB, and in 1946 the SED. From 1948 to 1950 he was first instructor of the FDGB district board in Dresden, then full-time BGL chairman in the telecommunications construction office in Dresden.

From 1950 to 1955 he held various functions in the IG Post and Telecommunications: from 1950 to 1952 he was secretary of the state board of the IG Post and Telecommunications in Saxony , 1952/53 teacher for social sciences at the Deutsche Post Dresden, from June 1953 to In April 1955 he acted as chairman of the Dresden district board of the IG Post and Telecommunications and was finally from May 1955 to April 1958 chairman of the central board of the IG Post and Telecommunications. From 1955 to 1959 he was also a member of the FDGB federal executive committee.

Between 1957 and 1966, Springer completed a correspondence course at the Karl Marx party college with a degree in social science. From May 1958 to March 1962 he acted as deputy chairman of the FDGB district committee in Dresden, from April 1962 to August 1963 as chairman of the district committee in Dresden of IG Energie-Post-Transport and from June 1963 to June 1965 as chairman of the FDGB district committee in Dresden.

From June 1965 to December 1966 he was secretary of the FDGB district committee in Dresden. In 1967/1968 he acted as acting chairman and from 1968 as chairman of the FDGB district board in Dresden and was again a member of the FDGB federal board. From 1968 he was also a member of the SED district leadership in Dresden and from 1971 a member of the Dresden district assembly .

From 1971 until his death he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR, where he was a member of the FDGB parliamentary group and the committee for labor and social policy.
