The 2001/02 rugby Bundesliga is the 31st in its history. 8 teams played for the German rugby championship. The German Rugby Club Hanover (DRC Hanover) became champions. It was the only time in the history of the Bundesliga and the German Rugby Championship that no final was played: The table status of the Bundesliga at the end of the season was valid.
