Russ (born September 26, 1992 in New Jersey , real life Russel Vitale ) is an American rapper , singer-songwriter and music producer . He was best known for his singles What They Want and Losin Control , which reached number 83 and 62 on the US Billboard Hot 100 . He is part of the rap group Diemon Crew. On May 5, 2017, he released his debut album, There’s Really a Wolf, with Columbia Records .

life and career

Russ was born in New Jersey on September 26, 1992 , and has moved frequently since then because of his father's work. So he lived briefly in New York , North Carolina and Kentucky until his family obtained permanent residence in Rosswell , Georgia . Today he lives in Atlanta . Russ began writing rap lyrics at the age of seven, and when he was 14 he produced his first beats . He recorded his first song at the age of 18.

Russ has iris heterochromia , which gives him two different eye colors and thus a special trademark. His left eye is dark, the right light brown.

Russ has been under contract with Columbia Records since 2016 . In the same year he released his single What They Want , which reached number 83 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and later Losin Control , which is his highest-placed single in the US charts with the highest numbering 29.

Before the release of his album, he announced his "The Wake Up" tour on Twitter , which will take place from May 16 to August 5, 2017.

At the end of August 2017 it was announced that There's Really a Wolf has reached gold status, which he also produced completely alone at the same time.

Music genre

His previous inspirations include G-Unit , 50 Cent and Eminem . Before he recorded himself rapping, Russ produced numerous beats for six years. Even today he writes, produces and mixes his own songs, is also responsible for mastering and also serves as a sound engineer .
