The Russengraben is the over 5 km long lower course of a main line over 19 km long ditch system in the flat valley between the flowing Isar and the flowing Danube . It stretches in a west-east direction from a little north of Moos to Thundorf , initially a little north, then along the DEG 21 district road . Immediately after crossing Thundorf, it crosses a sluice through the flood dam of the Danube into its floodplain and flows little later from the right into the stream.

construction

The artificial trench was built by Russian prisoners of war of World War II and therefore got its name. The trench is primarily used for drainage , it and especially its left upper course take on several side ditches.
