Quotes

Quote on Greuner's narrative style

“Ruth Greuner has a wealth of linguistic resources. She spreads them lavishly, one picture often kills the other. It is a deliberate, “beautiful” style that tempts contemplation and thus contradicts the spirit of the book that wants to activate. It seems that there is a connection between this dressing up and what is not clearly thought out. The feeling pushes the mind. "

Quote on Greuner's editions

"With a sure eye for what is to be saved, always striving to combine literary quality and zeitgeist, Ruth Greuner has raised treasures of literature in her cautious, critical way."

- Anna-Luise Zimmermann : The Morning , 1980
