Ruud Hesp (born October 31, 1965 in Bussum ) is a former Dutch football goalkeeper and today's goalkeeping coach .

Career

He started his career in 1985 with HFC Haarlem , two years later he moved to Fortuna Sittard , where he played until 1994. He then went to Roda JC Kerkrade for three years . In 1997 he moved to FC Barcelona , which he left for Fortuna Sittard in 2000. In 2002 he ended his career.

Hesp was represented by the Dutch national team at the European Championships in 1996 and the 1998 World Cup . But he was the clear number 3 behind Edwin van der Sar and Ed de Goey and was never used.

Hesp is currently the goalkeeping coach of the Dutch national team .

His younger brother Danny Hesp was also a professional footballer.
