Ryōma Yamamoto (born July 14, 1995 in Nagasaki Prefecture ) is a Japanese triple jumper .

Athletic career

Ryōma Yamamoto gained his first international experience at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Eugene , where he finished seventh with 15.89 m. He then finished eighth at the Asian Games in Incheon with a width of 15.70 m. In 2017 he took part in the World Championships in London , where he was eliminated with 16.01 m in qualification . Shortly afterwards he won the bronze medal at the Summer Universiade in Taipei with 16.80 m behind the Azerbaijani Nazim Babayev and Hugues Fabrice Zango from Burkina Faso. Two years later he finished seventh at the Asian Championships in Doha with 16.04 m.

In 2016 and 2017, Yamamoto became the Japanese triple jump champion.
