Ryan Davis (born January 30, 1983 in Magdeburg , real name Sebastian Waack) is a Berlin based German music producer , live act , DJ and graphic artist .

Life

Having grown up in Saxony-Anhalt in the 1990s, Davis came into intensive contact with the hip-hop and techno scene, which had a strong influence on the German music scene at the time. In the midst of these movements, the DJ was the leading figure for the musical development, which brought Davis into contact with the DJing profession in early 2000 and inspired him to produce his first electronic music. Thanks to his training in classical guitar playing, Davis already had previous knowledge of melodic compositions and was able to incorporate this into his productions.

Career

The emphasis on the melody is a trademark that runs through Davis productions to this day. In 2012, after numerous singles and EPs, he released his first album 'Particles of Bliss' on the record label Traumschallplatten . Constantly growing support from well-known DJs and producers from the electronic scene such as Aphex Twin at the Day & Night Festival 2017, Kiasmos, Dominik Eulberg or Apparat , but also from bands like Depeche Mode - who use his music in the opening act of their ' Sound of the Universe ' Tour played - underscoring Davis' standing and breadth in the musical landscape. He has been touring around the world for about 8 years. Davis sees himself as a nomad who is always drawn to labels that are open to his musical visions. Publications on avant-garde labels such as Erased Tapes or the placement of his music by Hugo Boss at New York Fashion Week 2019, as well as in American series such as How to get away with murder , show the continuous development and expansion of Davis' spectrum.

In addition to his artistic work, Davis runs the two labels Klangwelt Records (since 2008) & Back Home (since 2009).
