Ryan Thang (born May 11, 1987 in Edina , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player who has been under contract with Mora IK in HockeyAllsvenskan since 2012 .
Career
Ryan Thang began his career as a hockey player in the junior league United States Hockey League , in which he was active from 2004 to 2006 for the Sioux Falls Stampede and Omaha Lancers. He then attended the University of Notre Dame for four years , for whose ice hockey team he played parallel in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association . With his team he won the CCHA championship in 2007 and 2009. During his studies he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2007 in the third round as a total of 81st player by the Nashville Predators . For their farm team Milwaukee Admirals from the American Hockey League , the winger made his professional ice hockey debut towards the end of the 2009/10 season . In the following two years he was a regular for Milwaukee in the AHL, while he only came to a single use in the National Hockey League during the 2011/12 season for the Nashville Predators .
For the 2012/13 season , Thang was signed by the Augsburg Panthers from the German Ice Hockey League .
