Ryu Ji-hae (born February 10, 1976 in Busan ) is a former South Korean table tennis player . She won bronze twice at Olympic Games.

Career

In 1985 Ryu Ji-hae started playing table tennis. In 1995 she took part in a world championship for the first time. Here she reached the quarter-finals in doubles. In mixed with Chul Seung Lee she won bronze, with the South Korean team she was runner-up in the world championship. In 1999 she played in the singles in the semi-finals against the later title winner Wang Nan . With a 6-0 lead in the fifth set, they brought a warning from the referee out of rhythm. So she lost that game and it was only enough to get bronze. In 2000 and 2001 she was third with the team.

She took part in the Olympic Games twice, each time she finished third in doubles: in 1996 with Park Hae-jung and in 2000 with Kim Moo-kyo , with whom she repeatedly formed a successful double.

In 2001 she played for a few months in Montpellier in the French league. In the same year she won the individual German Open in Bayreuth. In mid-2003 she ended her international career.
