São Pedro de Rio Seco is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Almeida . 181 inhabitants live in it (as of June 30, 2011).
history
Lusitanians maintained a simple settlement here, which was captured by the Romans and rebuilt a little further west. The finds of ceramics, coins, utensils, wine cellars and tombs made here date from Roman times. Documents defining ecclesiastical territorial responsibilities under King Wamba prove that the settlement continued into the Visigoth Empire in the 7th century. Not much is known about the place after the conquest of the Moors from 711 onwards .
In the course of the settlement policy after the Reconquista, documents from the reign of King Sancho II mention the community in 1222 . After the Castilian conquest in the meantime , the town charter Castelo Boms also mentioned the municipality in 1296 , which with the Treaty of Alcañices also became definitively Portuguese again and part of the district of Castelo Bom. In the course of administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , the municipality was finally incorporated into the Almeida district in 1834 .
