Sören Südmeier (born March 29, 1991 ) is a German handball player .

The 1.90 m tall right-handed player plays for ASV Hamm-Westfalen and is mainly used as a middle backcourt player.

Career

Sören Südmeier started playing handball in his hometown at LiT Handball Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald . In 2008 he joined the youth department at GWD Minden . From 2010 he was in the squad for both the 2nd Bundesliga and the 3rd division . In the 2011/12 season he was promoted to the Bundesliga with the team. When the regular middleman Dalibor Doder was injured before the start of the season, Südmeier represented him surprisingly well and kept getting larger shares of the game after Doder's return. In April 2014, he seriously injured his cruciate ligament , was out for over a year and was therefore unable to participate in the entire 2014/15 season , at the end of which GWD Minden was relegated. In summer 2018 he moved to ASV Hamm-Westfalen .
