LiT Tribe Germania (officially: performance in Team Tribe Germania eV ) is a handball club from Minden and Hille . The first men's handball team plays in the 3rd division and that of the women plays in the fourth-class Oberliga Westfalen . With the entry of TuS Nettelstedt , the association will be called LiT 1912 in the male senior division from July 1, 2020 . For women, the name will be LiT Tribe 1912 , as TuS Nettelstedt remains independent in this division.

history

The parent clubs

The oldest parent club of LiT Tribe Germania is VfB Holzhausen II , which was founded in 1892.

The second oldest parent club is the gymnastics club Germania Nordhemmern, founded in 1910 . This was initially founded as TV Gut-Heil Nordhemmern and renamed Germania three years later. This measure was intended to avoid confusion with the neighboring Gut-Heil Rothenuffeln association. In field handball , Germania played in the association league in the late 1950s. In 1979 they were promoted to the Association League, where the team was runner-up straight away.

The youngest parent club is the RSV Westfalia Mindenerwald , which was founded on April 21, 1949 as an equestrian club. On February 16, 1954, it finally became a handball club. The greatest success in the club's history was promotion to the district league in 1985.

TuS Nettelstedt will join from July 1, 2020 .

TuS Südhemmern , which was founded on August 8, 1945, joined briefly from 2012 to 2018, but is now independent again. This was originally a football club , which then received a handball department in 1947. In field handball, the Südhemmerner played in the state league between 1954 and 1956, while the team in the hall did not get beyond the district league. Rainer Niemeyer , who became world champion with the German national team in 1978 , trained the team for some time.

From syndicate to merger

To strengthen the youth work, the three main clubs formed the youth game community JSG NSM in 1991 . Three years later, the handball departments of Germania Nordhemmern and RSV Westfalia Mindenerwald merged to form HSG Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald , or HSG NoMi for short . In 2004 the HSG changed its name to LiT Handball Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald . It is named after a logistics company . In 2012, the senior handball players from TuS Südhemmern also joined the game community, which has had its current name since then. The association is a cooperation partner of TuS N-Lübbecke . The home venue is the Nordhemmern sports hall.

The HSG Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald took over the place of the Germania in the association league and in 2001 managed the promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen. After a runner-up in 2005 behind SG Schalksmühle-Halver , he was promoted to the Regionalliga West a year later . There, the team of coach Vygindas Petkevicius led the table for months before it was intercepted by TV Korschenbroich and finally took third place. In 2010 the team qualified for the newly created 3rd division . After a sixth place in the opening season , LiT had to relegate to the Oberliga Westfalen in 2012 as bottom of the table. In 2019 the ascent succeeded.

The club was able to qualify for the DHB Cup twice . This was first achieved in 2009 . After a bye in the first round, the team met Bundesliga club TSV Hannover-Burgdorf in round two and lost 19:38. A year later , the team met the second division Dessau-Roßlauer HV in the first round and lost the game significantly with 29:40.

Women's handball

The handball players started in 1994 with the formation of the HSG Nordhemmern / Mindenerwald in the district league and later made it to the state league. In 2011, the team under coach Matthias Husemeier achieved promotion to the Association League Westphalia with 42: 2 points after several runners-up championships. This was followed by a direct march through to the Oberliga Westfalen, from which the team was relegated in 2015. After four years in the Association League Westphalia, a newly formed team under coach Andrea Leiding succeeded in re-advancing to the Oberliga Westfalen, in which the LiT Tribe Germania will start for the 2019/2020 season.
