South African Half Marathon Championships

The South African Half Marathon Championships is an annual international long-haul - road race over the half marathon distance (21.0975 km) between South African nations of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) is organized. It was launched in 2000 and, along with the North and East African Half Marathon Championships, is one of three regional half marathon championships organized by the CAA.

In addition to the most important athletics championships in the southern African region and the cross-country skiing championships in the southern African region, the competition is one of three senior athletics championships organized for the southern region. Both events take place in odd years.

In 1989 a South African marathon championship was held.
