The sports club Germania 1904 or Germania Breslau for short was a German football club from Breslau .

history

The club was founded in 1904 and chose red and white as its club colors. Shortly after it was founded, the club was one of the leading clubs in the Southeast German Football Association . In the 1910/11 season, the team narrowly missed the leap into the finals of the German soccer championship . After victories over SC Germania Kattowitz and the German SV Posen , Germania Breslau was in the final of the regional championship, which was then held in seven regions. The first final game took place on April 14, 1911 in Forst against FC Askania Forst . After the 2: 3 defeat, Breslau protested successfully, but also lost the replay on April 16 in Cottbus significantly with 0: 3. In the following season, the SC Germania penetrated after victories over the SC Diana Kattowitz and again the German SV Posen again in the final before the southeast German regional championship. But this time it was not enough to win the title. The game for Germania Breslau against ATV Liegnitz was lost with 1: 5 .

In 1933 the club merged with SV Grüneiche in 1924 and SpVgg Friesen in 1927 Breslau to form SpVgg Germania 04 Breslau . After the Gauligen was founded, the club played in the second-rate district league of Central Silesia . In the 1935/36 season the club was relegated to the 1st district class in Breslau , and in the 1939/40 season it was promoted back to the second class. In 1941/42 the club withdrew from gaming, presumably due to the war. In 1944, the founding of a war syndicate between SC Alemannia Breslau and SpVgg Germania Breslau is known . In 1945 the association was dissolved.
