Lists on the subject

The SIG Sauer P229 is a compact self-loading pistol in caliber .357 SIG , .40 S&W , 9 mm Luger or .22 LR from the weapons manufacturer SIG Sauer GmbH & Co. KG .

technology

It was specially developed for the US market from the SIG Sauer P228 model and is based on the SIG Sauer P226 . In addition to the new calibers, it is distinguished from the P228 by a milled stainless steel slide . The heavier slide is necessary due to the different calibers and increases the weight of the weapon by around 80 grams. The P229 pistols can be adapted to all three calibers (9mm, .357 and .40) by changing the barrel and spring. There is also an exchange system for this weapon in .22lfB caliber. It is made in the United States and Germany.
