The SV Leonberg / Eltingen is a sports club in Leonberg with about 4,400 members in 23 departments. It was created on January 1, 2018 from the merger of TSV Eltingen and TSG Leonberg.
History of TSV Eltingen
The club was founded on July 22, 1894 as a gymnastics club under the name TV 1894 Eltingen . On May 17, 1950, the gymnastics club merged with SV Eintracht Eltingen and was renamed TSV 1894 Eltingen . After the footballers of the club rose to the 2nd amateur league in 1959, they were able to establish themselves here in the top third of the table. In 1972 TSV rose as champions in the 1st Amateur League North Württemberg , which was then the third highest division. The club was able to hold out here for four years. The best placement during this period was a fifth place in the 1974/75 season . As fifteenth in the table they rose in the following season in the 2nd amateur league, which in turn had to leave two years later towards the district league.
After TSV Eltingen played again in the Württemberg Association League between 1988 and 1997 , they disappeared from higher-class football in the period that followed. The club rose to the district league B, but was able to rise again in 2006 in the district league Enz / Murr . There the relegation was missed prematurely in 2007 and one rose to the district league A. In the 2007/08 season, the first team secured the championship there early on, and with it promotion, and won the district cup (3-1 in the final against district league champions TSV Münchingen). In 2011, the team secured promotion to the seventh-class state league Württemberg in the relegation . In 2016 you had to relegate to the district league Enz / Murr. The 2019/20 season was terminated prematurely due to the corona pandemic and assessed according to the quotient rule. Since SV Leonberg / Eltingen had the best game points value at the time of the cancellation, it was promoted directly to the state league.
