Said Ben Said

Saïd Ben Saïd (born July 11, 1966 in Tunis ) is a Tunisian-French film producer . He is president of SBS Productions.

Life

Saïd Ben Saïd, son of an engineer, grew up in Tunis. He got to know films through television and through tapes that friends of his parents sent to Tunis. In 1984 he went to France and attended the private Lycée Sainte-Geneviève in Versailles to prepare for college . Then he began to study engineering at the ESTP . While still a student, he attended courses with Jean Douchet at the Cinémathèque française and regularly the Salle de cinéma UGC. When applying for a place at the École nationale supérieure des métiers de l'image et du son ( Fémis ), he failed, but was successful in an application to M 6 and to the Union générale cinématographique (UGC), one of the most important European film distributor.

In 2010 he founded the production company SBS Productions . SBS meanwhile has films a. a. Produced by Brian De Palma , Roman Polanski , David Cronenberg , Walter Hill , Kleber Mendonça Filho, Philippe Garrel and Paul Verhoeven .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
