Saanika (German Saniko ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the municipality of Haapsalu (until 2017: rural municipality Ridala ) in Lääne County in Estonia .

The place has 21 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located eight kilometers southeast of the core city of Haapsalu.

Sons and daughters of the place

Saanika is the birthplace of the plant researcher Jaan Spuhl-Rotalia (1859–1916), the composer Cyrillus Kreek (1889–1962) and the botanist Aleksander Siimon (1900–1970).
