Sabine Jainski
Sabine Jainski (* 1968 in Cologne ) is a German filmmaker , journalist and translator .
Life
Sabine Jainski studied comparative literature , German literature and philosophy at the University of Bonn , the Free University of Berlin and the University of Paris VIII .
She has been working as a translator from English and French into German since 1994 and as a freelance filmmaker since 1996, initially for the arte culture magazine Metropolis. Since 1998 she has been producing documentaries for ARD, ZDF, ARTE and 3sat, mostly together with producer Ilona Kalmbach from the competent filmproduction. Since 2008 she has been translating for the German edition of the monthly newspaper Le Monde diplomatique . Together with Ilona Kalmbach, she won the Juliane Bartel Prize in 2011 for the arte documentary Seyran Ates - My Life and in 2014 the Franco-German Journalism Prize in the video category wanted for superwomen. In the balancing act between work, children and caring for the parents (arte / WDR 2012).
