Reviews about it

  • Elisabeth von Thadden writes on ZEIT online that the atlas makes the unknown recognizable, even though solutions are neglected because of the oppressive and gloomy scenarios.
  • The editors of the Austrian magazine “Südwind - Magazine for International Politics, Culture and Development” use the work as a standard work on globalization, in order to be able to find one's way more easily “in the labyrinthine world theater”.
  • Josef Schurer welcomed by socialnet .com in his detailed summary regularly updating consecutive volumes to be able to represent better to the rapidly changing current situation and recommends the work of politicians, pupils, students and "all the people who believe in it and work to ensure that only a change of perspective enables a humane life for people in our “One World”. "
  • In the Frankfurter Rundschau online review, Arno Widmann describes the atlas as an effective antidote to the propaganda effort that has been used for decades to explain “that the only way to freedom and prosperity is this to make the rich even richer. ”The atlas shows the whole new world view with regard to the flows of migrants and ideas, the capital and raw material movements or the oil production of the future.

Reviews about it

  • The Berlin Institute for Population and Development presents the historical atlas as a work in which the history of the 20th century is assessed in a new light under new contexts. Not only is information provided, but also options for political action and alternative strategies are shown. The atlas shows "the ambivalence of global developments that are still ongoing and are likely to continue in the future". That structural change and urbanization brought more prosperity and social justice, but at the same time increased social inequality between high and low earners, with a view to the industrialized countries as well as to the emerging and poorly developed countries.
  • Moritz "mo." Sauer on plow.de says that this volume, like its predecessors, "packs condensed knowledge into two-page articles and tweaks the contributions with meaningful graphics".

2012 "The world of tomorrow"

The volume with an introduction by Serge Halimi was published in November 2012. ISBN 978-3-937683-39-3

2015 "Less becomes more"

This postal growth atlas comprises over 300 maps and infographics on 176 pages. He starts from the following assessment of the current situation: “In view of climate change, social conflicts and scarce resources, capitalism threatens to slide into an involuntary, crisis-ridden and tense contraction. But postal growth means something different from the permanent crisis of our growth society: A sustainable postal growth society would no longer have to grow at any price in order to stabilize. ”(P. 103) What a path to this completely different society might look like is only in the making Approaches recognizable. But in addition to a variety of big questions about growth criticism , there are already small answers and initiatives in the growth-critical movement that are promising and should be taken seriously; these are dealt with in over a hundred articles in the post-growth atlas.
