Arno Widmann

Arno Widmann (born August 8, 1946 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Arno Widmann studied philosophy at the University of Frankfurt . In 1979 he was a co-founder of the daily newspaper (taz) . There he worked as a literary editor and at times as editor-in-chief. An interview published under his responsibility in February 1987 by the writer Stefan Heym with the East Berlin biologist Jakob Segal , which contributed significantly to the spread of the conspiracy theory that the HI virus was artificially created in a US military laboratory, received some attention .

Widmann later became deputy editor-in-chief of the German Vogue . Posts followed as head of the features section of the time and as managing editor of the Berliner Zeitung ; there he was mainly responsible for the opinion side. In 2007 he became head of the features section of the Frankfurter Rundschau . Widmann has been a member of the DuMont editorial community since 2010 .

In 2002, Widmann's debut novel Sprenger was published by Folio Verlag .
