Sabiene Laila Elisabeth Karlsson (born March 28, 1962 in Häverö ) is a former Swedish biathlete .

Together with runners like Eva Korpela , Inger Björkbom , Anna Hermansson and Mia Stadig, Sabiene Karlsson belonged to the first generation of Swedish biathletes who, along with Soviet, Norwegian and partly also Finnish athletes, were world leaders from the introduction of the World Championships in 1984 to the first Winter Olympics in 1992 female starters were also allowed to participate in Albertville .

Karlsson first took part in the 1986 World Championships in Falun at home in Biathlon World Championships and was 14th in the sprint and 15th in the individual. With Eva Korpela and Inger Björkbom, she won the silver medal as the last runner in the relay behind the overpowering relay from the Soviet Union. In 1987 she was 13th in the individual and 27th in the sprint in Lahti . The last time the Swede took part in the World Championships in Feistritz an der Drau, she finished 24th in the sprint and 19th in the individual race and seventh in the relay race with Björkbom and Stadig.
