Sabine Rau (born September 10, 1959 in Cologne ) is a German television journalist .

Career

Sabine Rau studied German , political science and philosophy with a master's degree . She then worked for various newspapers (including Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger ) and broadcasters ( Deutschlandfunk , WDR ) as a freelancer. From 1988 to 1990 followed a traineeship at WDR, where Rau later worked as editor and head of the service, among other things for the programs "Ich stelle mich" and Current Hour . In addition, she moderated the political magazine Westpol .

In 1995 Rau became an ARD correspondent in Bonn , and in 1999 she moved to the ARD capital studio in Berlin. In 2001 she became a correspondent at the ARD studio in Brussels . In 2006 she returned to the ARD capital studio, where she specialized in the subjects of the outside world , Alliance 90 / The Greens , internal affairs / extremism , the Chancellery , the SPD and defense .

From 2014 she moderated the report from Berlin alongside Tina Hassel and Thomas Baumann .

Since November 2017, Sabine Rau has succeeded Ellis Fröder as head of the ARD's Paris office.
