Sabrina Fanchini (born August 17, 1988 in Lovere ) is a former Italian ski racer . Her strongest disciplines were the slalom and the giant slalom . Her older sisters Elena and Nadia were also ski racers.
biography
Fanchini drove their first FIS races in December 2003 . At first, however, there were largely no top placements, it wasn't until winter 2007/2008 that she was able to place in the top ten several times. She celebrated her first victory in an FIS race on March 2, 2009 in the downhill from Caspoggio . In winter 2007/2008 she won her first points in the European Cup , but for the time being she did not get any top placements in this racing series either. In 2010 she was Italian junior champion in slalom and behind Camilla Borsotti Italian runner-up in combination.
In December 2010 Fanchini achieved top 10 results in the European Cup in the Gressoney slalom and the Limone Piemonte giant slalom for the first time, after which it was used for the first time in the World Cup on December 21 of the same year in the Courchevel slalom . With the 28th place she immediately won her first World Cup points. A little later she achieved her best results in the World Cup with two 26th places in the slaloms of Semmering and Zagreb . After these 26th places had been followed by several failures, and she could not score in any other World Cup races for the time being, she surprisingly reached eighth place in the giant slalom in Lienz on December 28, 2011 . Fanchini has not yet been able to match this result. Her second best World Cup result in winter 2011/2012 was a 20th place in the giant slalom in Åre . The following 2012/2013 season came to an early end for Fanchini after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture in her left knee in a fall in Loveland's Nor-Am Slalom on November 26 .
She resigned in June 2016.
