biography

Sabrina Salerno attended a foreign language - High School in her hometown of Genoa. At the age of 15 she won her first beauty pageants and was first Miss Seaside, then Miss Liguria . In 1986 she worked as a showgirl in the television program Premiatissima with Johnny Dorelli. In 1987/88 Salerno was a singer on the Sandra & Raimondo TV Show . In the meantime, she achieved her international breakthrough with her album Sabrina and the single Boys (Summertime Love), which was specially mixed for the international market . The follow-up single Hot Girl was also a success. In 1989 Like a Yo-Yo was the last Sabrina hit for the time being and was in the British charts for a week , in the same year she played in the film Fratelli d'Italia , named after the Italian national anthem , with Jerry Calà .

At the side of Raffaella Carrà , Salerno returned to television in 1990 in the Ricomincio da 2 program on Rai 2 . In 1991 she sang Siamo donne , a duet with Jo Squillo . The two artists take part in the 1991 Sanremo Festival . The release of the album Over the Pop was followed by a successful tour and return to television. For Channel 5, she performed Bellezze sulla neve .

After a long period of studio work, a new phase in Salerno's career began in 1994. The title Rockawillie , which was created with new producers, became a success in Italy. After further publications, there was a change in style in 1995 and the rock album Maschio dove sei , which was released in several European countries.

In 2004 Sabrina married her partner Enrico Monti and gave birth to a son.
