The Sage War Cemetery is a military cemetery , by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) after World War II was built and is maintained. The village of Sage belongs to the community of Großenkneten in the district of Oldenburg . The cemetery is in the Wildeshauser Geest .

history

The village of Sage is located in an area that was the main battle line of the Allies during World War II . This ran from Groningen via Delmenhorst - Verden (Aller) to the - Lüneburg Heath .

Occupancy

Mostly members of the Allied Air Force who had lost their lives during the fighting in northwest Germany, on the North Frisian Islands and in Northern Europe were buried in the Sage War Cemetery .
