Saint-Genis is a former French commune of last 50 inhabitants (2013) in the Hautes-Alpes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former municipalities of Eyguians , Lagrand and Saint-Genis merged and thus formed the Commune nouvelle Garde-Colombe .

geography

The place is in the Maritime Alps . A stream called Riou follows its natural course through Saint-Genis to the reservoir “Plan d'Eau du Riou”. The continuation is canalised and is fed to the white water river Buëch .

Départementstrasse D1075 runs between the reservoir and the river and joins the European route 712 . There is a campsite on this trunk road .
