Saint-Jean-des-Essartiers is a village in Normandy in France . The former municipality belonged to the canton of Aunay-sur-Odon in the Vire . It was merged with Sept-Vents, Dampierre and La Lande-sur-Drôme to form the Commune nouvelle Val de Drôme with effect from January 1, 2017 . Since then it has been a Commune déléguée .

It was bordered to the northwest by Sept-Vents , to the northeast by Cahagnes , to the southeast by Saint-Pierre-du-Fresne , to the south by Les Loges , Saint-Martin-des-Besaces and Saint-Ouen-des-Besaces, and to the southwest Dampierre .
