Saint-Laurent-de-Vaux is about 15 kilometers west of Lyon on the Yzeron River .

history

There is no evidence (neither archaeological nor bibliographical) that the place was inhabited in Roman times.

During the French Revolution , the place was temporarily called Vaux-la-Garde .

In the local elections in March 2014, there was no candidate for the first ballot. In the second ballot, the mayor Raymond Mazurat and his team were temporarily elected with the task of merging the municipality with the neighboring municipality of Vaugneray . A prefecture decree of October 9, 2014 announced the creation of the Vaugneray nouvelle commune on January 1, 2015.
