The Salang is a left tributary of the Ghorband in the Parwan province north of the Afghan capital Kabul .

course

The Salang has its source at the Salang Pass in the Hindu Kush in the north of the Parwan province . It initially flows in a south-easterly direction, later in a southerly direction through the mountains. The trunk road from Charikar to Pol-e Khomri follows the course of the river. After about 30 km the Salang meets the Ghorband coming from the west . The catchment area of the Salang covers approx. 500 km². The mean discharge is 10 m³ / s.
