Parwan ( Pashto / Dari :پروان) is a province ( velayat ) in eastern Afghanistan with 664,500 inhabitants. Its capital is Charikar .

geography

Important rivers of the province are the Ghorband River, which flows through the entire province from west to east . This leads to the provincial border to the east in the province of Panjshir Province next river Panjshir Province . The estuary is an important fertile plain, where, among other things, the capital and the Bagram Air Base are located. Following the provincial border to the south, the Panjshir leaves the province to flow into another river just a few kilometers further.
