Salignac ( Gascon : Salinhac ) is a former French commune with 1,745 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Gironde department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . As a municipality, it belonged to the Arrondissement of Blaye and the canton of Le Nord-Gironde (until 2015: canton of Saint-André-de-Cubzac ). The inhabitants are called Salignacais .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former municipalities of Aubie-et-Espessas , Saint-Antoine and Salignac were merged and have since formed the Commune nouvelle Val de Virvée .

Salignac is located about 25 kilometers north-northeast of Bordeaux .
