Salmo Fibreni is a species from the family of Salmonidae (Salmonidae), which is endemic in Lago di Posta Fibreno occurs and its tributaries in central Italy.

features

Salmo fibreni reaches a length of up to 19.5 centimeters. Adult animals also retain the youthful drawing, which consists of seven to eleven large, dark vertical bars. The flanks have 15 to 20 round, eye-like reddish to dark brown spots that are about the size of the eye.

Way of life

The spawning season is in December and January and thus before that of the local Mediterranean brown trout ( Salmo cetti ). The eggs are laid near the underwater springs.
