Metzler Collection

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Metzler Collection is a series of introductions and monographs by JB Metzler Verlag on German studies, literature and linguistics, cultural history and philosophy. They appeared from 1961 to 2007 (occasionally new editions of individual volumes appeared afterwards). According to the count, there were 352 volumes (but some have not appeared, so that the series came to 337 volumes).

Initially, the series had the subtitle Realienbücher für Germanisten (with the programmatic intention to forego evaluation and interpretation), from the 1970s Realien zur Literature , which was completely dropped in the 1990s.
