The Samsung SGH-i900 Omnia ( Samsung Omnia for short ) is a bar-sized touchscreen cell phone from Samsung . It is similar to the Samsung SGH-F480, which was also developed by Samsung. Under the name Omnia (“wish” in Arabic and “everything” in Latin) it is in direct competition with the Apple iPhone due to its properties and functions . The successor is the Samsung Omnia II .

The Omnia is a smartphone with Windows Mobile 6.1 as the operating system . It is one of the competitors of the Apple iPhone .
The Samsung Omnia has a 3.2 ″ touchscreen and a virtual QWERTY keyboard with vibration feedback. The WQVGA display can display 65,536 colors and is able to automatically switch the display to landscape format when the device is placed horizontally. There is also a 5.0 megapixel camera on the back, which can take pictures with a resolution of 2560 × 1920 pixels and videos with a resolution of up to 640 × 480 pixels. There is also a small QCIF camera for video telephony on the front of the phone. The Samsung Omnia has around 200 MB main memory (including 100 MB program and data memory), as well as an 8 or 16 GB (depending on the equipment version) internal memory. In addition, the storage space can be expanded by a maximum of 16 GB using a microSDHC memory card . In addition to the integrated GPS receiver, depending on the provider, most packages come with free Route66 navigation software with maps for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
