Samuel Bogley

Samuel Walter Bogley (born November 16, 1941 in Washington, DC ) is an American politician . Between 1979 and 1982 he was lieutenant governor of the state of Maryland .

Career

Samuel Bogley attended his home public schools, Duke University and the University of Maryland . After a subsequent law degree at the University of Baltimore and his admission to the bar in 1968, he began to work in this profession. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party . In his home country he held a number of local offices. In 1970 he was elected to the Prince George's County Council.

In 1978, Bogley was elected Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. He held this office between 1979 and 1982. He was Deputy Governor Harry Hughes . In September 1988, President Ronald Reagan appointed him to the Merit Systems Protection Board , which looks after the rights of federal employees. He later practiced as a private lawyer again.

He has eight children with his wife Rita.
